Construction Begins for Eastwood Shops at Mall Complex
NILES, Ohio – The buzz of new construction at the Eastwood Mall Complex got a bit louder recently as ground was broken for the Eastwood Shops, a retail development on the southern side of the property, near Route 422.
The 12,000-square-foot plaza will be home to McAlister’s Deli, which will tentatively open next summer, along with available spaces for three other businesses.
Eastwood Shops is just the latest component of an expansion and redevelopment program at the complex. Construction continues on a Meijer’s super-center, which includes a convenience store and fueling station; HomeGoods, Longhorn Steakhouse and Mission BBQ, all of which are scheduled to open next year. A Carter’s children’s store, to open between Burlington and TJMaxx, will welcome its first customers by Thanksgiving.
Just recently, King Cajun Seafood & Bar opened after an extensive redevelopment of a building that housed another restaurant.
Since the redevelopment and opening of the Boscov’s department store last year, the total amount of investment by Cafaro Company and the various new businesses has amounted to tens of millions of dollars, according to the development company.
Arrangements are being finalized with other businesses and announcements of their opening at the Eastwood Mall Complex are expected in the near future, the Cafaro Company said.
The Eastwood Mall Complex, at 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road, is one of America’s largest shopping centers, with more than 200 department stores, specialty shops, restaurants, hotels and entertainment options.
