Coronavirus Case Update: March 29, 2020
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – As of 2 p.m. March 29, Ohio reports 1,653 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and Pennsylvania 3,394.
Mahoning County reports 84 total cases with 46 hospitalizations and two deaths. Columbiana County reports 11 total cases with eight hospitalizations and one death. In Trumbull County, 36 were reported by the Ohio Department of Health, with 23 hospitalizations and two deaths.
In Pennsylvania, Mercer County reports seven total cases. There are eight confirmed cases in Lawrence County, which reported its first death Sunday.
Of all 1,653 cases in Ohio, 403 have resulted in hospitalizations, 139 of which are in the intensive care unit. The department of health reports 29 deaths thus far. The median age of those testing positive is 52.
To date, Ohio has conducted 24,376 tests for the novel coronavirus.
