Coronavirus Cases Update: March 27, 2020

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – As of 2 p.m. March 27, Ohio reports 1,137 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and Pennsylvania 2,218.

COVID-19, the disease spread by coronavirus, has spread to 61 counties in Ohio. Mahoning County reports 68 total cases, up from 48 Thursday, with 39 hospitalizations and two deaths. Columbiana County reports seven total cases with five hospitalizations and one death. In Trumbull County, 17 were reported by the Ohio Department of Health, with 12 hospitalizations and one death.

In Pennsylvania, Mercer County reports four total cases Friday. There are four confirmed cases in Lawrence County as well. Neither county has reported a death.

Of all 1,137 cases in Ohio, 276 have resulted in hospitalizations, 107 of which are in the intensive care unit. The department of health reports 19 deaths thus far. The median age of those testing positive is 52.
