Coronavirus Cases Update: March 28, 2020

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – As of 2 p.m. March 28, Ohio reports 1,406 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and Pennsylvania 2,751.

Mahoning County reports 80 total cases, up from 68 Friday, with 42 hospitalizations and two deaths. Columbiana County reports nine total cases with five hospitalizations and one death. In Trumbull County, 27 were reported by the Ohio Department of Health, with 18 hospitalizations and two deaths.

In Pennsylvania, Mercer County reports six total cases. There are eight confirmed cases in Lawrence County as well. Neither county has reported a death.

Of all 1,406 cases in Ohio, 344 have resulted in hospitalizations, 123 of which are in the intensive care unit. The department of health reports 25 deaths thus far. The median age of those testing positive is 52.

The figures are updated daily by the Ohio Department of Health at 2 p.m. and Pennsylvania Department of Health at noon.
