Cortland Bancorp Makes OTCQX Best 50 for 2nd Year
CORTLAND, Ohio – Cortland Bancorp, holding company of Cortland Banks, ranks No. 46 on the 2016 OTCQX Best 50, a compilation of the 50 top-performing companies that traded on the OTCQX Best Marketplace in 2015, the company announced Thursday.
It is the second consecutive year Cortland has made the list, James M. Gasior, president and CEO, noted.
The OTCQX Best 50 is the first-ever annual ranking of top-performing U.S. and international companies traded on the OTCQX marketplace.
The website Investopedia explains, “The OTC [over-the-counter] Markets Group organizes securities into the OTCQX, OTCQB and OTC Pink tiered marketplaces. The marketplace in which a company trades reflects the integrity of its operations, its level of disclosure and degree of investor engagement.”
OTCQX is “the best marketplace,” OTC Markets says, “designed for investor-focused companies that meet high financial standards, are current in their disclosure and receive third-party advisory.” The OTCQX companies “are distinguished by the excellence of their operation and diligence with which they convey their qualifications.”
On the OTCQX are more than 350 enterprises, foreign and domestic, that combined have more than $1.4 trillion in market capitalization and annual revenues of more than $36.1 billion, OTC Markets says.
The rankings are calculated based on an equal weighting of one-year share price
performance and growth of average daily dollar volume, Cortland says. All companies in this year’s OTCQX Best 50 traded on OTCQX last Dec. 31.
