Cossler Says Ewing Will Become YBI’s Next CEO
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Jim Cossler, the CEO and “chief evangelist” of the Youngstown Business Incubator, announced in an email this morning that “Barb Ewing will become the next CEO of the YBI.”
Cossler, also the YBI’s the Huntington Bank Entrepreneur in Residence, did not specify what his role, if any, would be going forward. Ewing is chief operating officer of the YBI.
Cossler’s email was sent to his email list of YBI friends and supporters. A news conference is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. today. In a media advisory, the YBI said, “The transition has been in the works since early 2016 and will become official effective May 1.”
Here is the text of Cossler’s email:
“I am beyond thrilled to announce that Barb Ewing will become the next CEO of the Youngstown Business Incubator.
“Way back, when almost no one believed… we took an abandoned furniture store and began developing it into an world class, five-building technology campus.
“When almost no one believed…we began work to launch the fastest growing software company in the country.
“When almost no one believed…we set the groundwork to attract a $70 million Innovation Center to our campus and create our own Venture Capital Fund.
“And when almost no one believed…we began a journey to take us to become the #1 University Affiliated Incubator in the World.
“They believe now. And they believe our best it yet to come. Our very best.
“Barb Ewing will lead us there.”
