COVID Booster Clinics Scheduled at Valley Sites

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Mahoning Valley residents can schedule appointments to receive COVID booster shots at select locations in the area.

Boosters are available for eligible vaccine recipients who completed their primary series at least six months ago. Current eligibility includes individuals 65 and older OR long-term care residents, as well as those who are 50-64 with certain underlying conditions.

Those 18-49 who are at high risk for severe COVID-19 because of certain underlying conditions, and those 18-64 who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting, may also receive a booster

All booster recipients must have their photo ID and COVID vaccination card.

Mahoning County Public Health is offering Moderna and Pfizer COVID boosters by appointment at the Austintown Senior Center, 112 Westchester Drive. Appointments began today at 9 a.m. to noon for Pfizer boosters and from 1 to 4 p.m. for Moderna boosters.

Nov. 5 | Pfizer from 9 a.m. to noon, Moderna from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.

Nov. 12 and 19 | Moderna shots from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.

Appointments with Mahoning Public Health can be made throughout the week up until Thursday at noon using the ArmorVax scheduling system at MahoningHealth.org or by calling 330 270 2855 extension. 185.

Youngstown City Health District is offering new shots, second doses and boosters to eligible recipients for the Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. Flu shots are also available with proof of insurance. Appointments can be made at Covid19.youngstownohio.gov.

Nov. 1 | New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Nov. 2 | Brownlee Woods Library, 4010 Sheridan Road, 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Nov. 3 | Eugenia Atkinson Rec Center, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Nov. 4 | Congregation Rodef Sholom, 1119 Elm St., 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Nov. 5 | Eugenia Atkinson Rec Center, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Anyone who received a Johnson & Johnson vaccine may get a booster dose of any COVID-19 vaccine approved or authorized for use in the U.S. at least two months following their initial dose.

Columbiana County Health District will be hosting a health care worker and first responder booster clinic on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center at 9364 state Route 45, Lisbon.

Pre-registration isn’t required, but proof of identification, as well as employment, certification or licensure will be required for all attendees.

Modern and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available.

Information on booster clinics to be held by the Columbiana County office for the general public will be forthcoming.
