Coviello Promoted to President of Regional Chamber Foundation
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber has promoted Guy Coviello to president of the Regional Chamber Foundation after he spent four years as the agency’s vice president of government affairs.
“As the foundation president, Guy will play a direct role in securing significant revenue, while actively identifying new business opportunities,” said chamber President and CEO James Dignan in a release. “As a member of the regional chamber’s senior leadership team, the foundation president is responsible for leading a development program that consists of three major efforts: development operations, individual giving (including a robust digital program) and corporate giving.”
The Regional Chamber Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that serves as the chamber’s supporting organization. In the past few years, it has been involved in supporting new programming in workforce development, military affairs and commercial corridor improvements.
Coviello joined the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber in 2014 after spending nearly 30 years at the Warren Tribune-Chronicle. He led the chamber’s Columbus Drive-In and Washington Fly-In events, as well as the Victory for the Valley campaign during the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland. The campaign, which won a marketing award from the Mid-America Economic Development Council, raised more than $300,000 to bring economic development consultants to the Mahoning Valley and earned more than $1.5 million in media coverage.
Earlier this year, Gov. John Kasich named Coviello to the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission. He previously worked on the Tri-State Shale Coalition’s transportation and infrastructure working group, which created a memorandum of understanding between Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia and led the effort to develop a $10 billion liquid natural gas storage hub that could lead to 100,000 jobs in plastics and petrochemicals.
Last year, Coviello took part in the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Research Foundation’s “Ohio Blue: A blueprint for accelerating the innovation economy” project and was named to the Campaign for America’s Energy Ohio steering committee.
