Crowe’s Cabinets Shares ‘Great Outlook’ for 2019

POLAND, Ohio – Major commercial projects, along with a steady stream of residential business across the Mahoning Valley, will keep Poland-based Crowe’s Cabinets busy this year, says its president, Tim Crowe.

“We’ve landed some major contracts for 2019, such as Shepherd of the Valley’s new facility in Liberty, Southwoods’ medical building expansion, Campbell Schools’ new facility and 7 17 Credit Union’s new facilities and re-branding projects,” Crowe says. “We have a great outlook for 2019.”

Founded in 1978, Crowe’s Cabinets is a second-generation family owned-and-operated business that designs, builds and manufactures custom cabinets and countertops for clients throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Crowe, who has worked for the business since he was a boy, was recently named its president.

High profile projects completed in 2018, he reports, include Bistro 1907 and the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Youngstown and Mercy Health’s infusion center. Other medical and assisted living projects were also completed.

Investing in new equipment and technology helped the company to maintain revenue, increase margins and become more efficient in 2018.

“We continue to evolve the business by making investments back into the company. Upgrading new technology such as a new CNC machine, an enterprise resource planning system, cutting-edge manufacturing software and other strategic investments that will position us for growth,” he says.

The commercial sector looks strong at the moment, while Crowe’s residential services are also expanding.

“In residential, we are making major investments, starting with the expansion of our showroom, adding staff and rolling out major marketing efforts,” Crowe says.

Specifically, its residential services will emphasize kitchen, bath and home design for remodeling and new home builds, he says.

Crowe and company employees are involved in various aspects of the community and support Poland Rotary, Ursuline High School, the Akron Children’s Radio-A-Thon, Hospice of the Valley, The Rich Center for Autism, Down Syndrome Association and many others.

“We’re a family here at Crowe’s,” Crowe says.

“My parents started the business. Now my wife is involved, and so many of the people who work here have been with us and have been like family for many years.”
