Daily Buzz: Tablets Make Reading Accessible
Students from Youngstown City Schools picked up tablets at Excalibur Barber Grooming Lounge in the Southern Park Mall to curb “summer slide.”
Kelan Bilal, owner of Excalibur Barber Grooming Lounge, started the Barbershop Reading Initiative Developing Growth in Education. The group focuses on maintaining reading skills for students between Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
“We wanted to bring a program to them that we would be able to help,” Bilal said.
