Davis YMCA to Hold Five Squared Art Show
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Davis Family YMCA will host the third annual Five Squared benefit art show at the McClurg Road branch.
The art show will launch with an opening reception 1-2 p.m. Sunday that is free and open to the public. The art show will run through March 7.
This year’s show will feature 614 5-inch-by-5-inch works donated by more than 200 local, national and international artists, including pieces from disabled children at a Russian orphanage. All of the art, both amateur and professional, is offered for sale for $25 (adult) or $10 (youth) each.
In addition, seven larger works will be presented at a silent auction. The silent auction features pieces by some of the most recognized and respected artists in the community: Al Bright, Nancy Hawkins, Jim O’Malley, Paula Smith, Gary Taneri and Don Wright,
Proceeds from the event will fund the Art Outreach project, which enables underserved children in the community to receive high quality art lessons. During 2015, children at Beatitude House, Casa Madre, Rescue Mission, Daybreak and Youngstown Community School were among those served.
