YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber is seeking applications for the 2018-2019 class of Leadership Mahoning Valley. The deadline is June 1.
The program identifies individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who demonstrate leadership talent and community commitment. It provides a general overview of the Mahoning Valley, an opportunity for increased understanding of key community issues and the potential to develop effective working relationships with other civic leaders.
Participants complete a nine-month program, which includes monthly day-long sessions that focus on major community systems such as education, health, human service, heritage, government, justice, labor, business, poverty and diversity. All sessions provide the opportunity for the class to share relevant learning experiences and to interact with leaders from sectors of the community outside their own.
A selection committee composed of Leadership Mahoning Valley members will review all applications received by the June 1 deadline. Up to 40 participants will be selected.
Candidates may request applications directly or be nominated by their employer, a program graduate or others. The $2,000 tuition covers all program costs, including meals, admission fees and supplies. Selected applicants will be billed for tuition. Applications may be requested by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 330 744 2131, Ext. 1241.
