Desai Stepping Down as Director of eCenter

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Ketaki Desai, executive director of the eCenter@LindenPointe, has announced that she is stepping down from her position at the end of the month.

“This has been a very difficult decision for me because I truly enjoyed working at the eCenter and in the community,” she said in a release Monday afternoon. “However, the three-hour drive time had started taking its toll on my health and family. I strongly believe that the [LindenPointe Development Corp.] team has worked hard to build our programs to where they are now and can rest assured that they will continue on.”

In her statement, Desai said she told the LindenPointe Development board of directors about her decision last week and that she plans “to assist with the transition remotely while consulting with the city of Hermitage on next steps.”

Desai joined the eCenter in late 2015. In her time as executive director, the business incubator launched the Venture Investment Accelerator fund, started the Entrepreneurship Academy, developed the Be A Tech Savvy Senior program, connected the entrepreneurial community in western Pennsylvania with resources to Pittsburgh, Youngstown and Erie and forged partnerships with several local colleges.

“In each and every case, it is our outstanding team along with the wonderful community and the many sponsors and partners who support our mission of economic development and entrepreneurial ecosystem creation that have made these success possible,” she said.

After taking time off, Desai said in her goodbye letter, she will build her portfolio consulting with nonprofit organizations in Pittsburgh.
