Digital Inclusion Group Offers Workshops

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – To mark Digital Inclusion Week this week, The Digital Inclusion Working Group – Mahoning Valley has launched Digital Advantage: An Initiative to Share Tools for People to Connect and Grow.

Digital Advantage stems from the 2017 Broadband Assessment prepared by Connect Ohio and Connected Nation that recommends that Mahoning Valley leaders raise awareness on low-cost broadband services and facilitate training to respond to the lack of digital technology adoption in the community.

The study found a striking divide among low income and low education households, particularly those with school age children.

Sessions being offered in Mahoning and Trumbull counties this week introductory classes, computer safety and security, digital marketing literacy, maker space training and building a website. The schedule of digital inclusion training activities can be viewed here.

For more information on the working group or Digital Advantage, contact Sarah Daugherty at Eastgate.
