Dignan Named Chairman of Ohio Metro Chambers
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – James Dignan, president and CEO of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, has been named chairman of the Ohio Metro Chambers Coalition.
With a combined membership of more than 25,000 businesses, the coalition is comprised of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and the chambers of commerce of the state’s eight largest metropolitan areas: Akron, Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo and Youngstown-Warren.
“Four out of every five Ohioans live within a metropolitan area. Our metro areas connect people to transit, recreation, development and jobs,” Dignan said in a release. “The Metro Chamber Coalition has a unique pulse on the issues facing businesses of all sizes operating across Ohio. In my new role, I serve as a trusted resource, helping to identify and work those issues of shared interest that impact the business community in all four corners of the state.”
Among the issues the Chambers Coalition will take up under Dignan’s leadership is the push to name Camp Garfield – formerly Camp Ravenna – as the site of the East Coast Missile Defense Shield.
Dignan’s first order of business as chairman was hosting the coalition’s Inaugural Reception Jan. 14. There, the association welcomed more than 120 guests to network with members of Ohio’s senate and house of representatives.
