Diocese of Youngstown Announces Golden Apple Award Winners

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Diocese of Youngstown’s Office of Catholic Schools this week announced the winners of the 2024 Golden Apple Award.

The award, made possible through the Donahue Family Foundation of Pittsburgh, honors six outstanding teachers and one outstanding principal in the Diocese of Youngstown’s Catholic schools.

Award winners receive an unrestricted cash award of $5,000, a certificate, a Golden Apple paperweight and a Golden Apple lapel pin, which will be presented at a dinner and ceremony May 1 at the Youngstown Country Club.

This year’s Golden Apple Award winners are:

  • Elizabeth “Betty” McCullough, principal at St. Nicholas School, Struthers.
  • Jennifer Burke, teacher at Sts. Philip and James School, Canal Fulton.
  • Jacqulyn DiNardo, teacher at St. Nicholas School, Struthers.
  • Michael Klockner, teacher at John F. Kennedy Catholic School Upper Campus, Warren.
  • Michelle Margroff, teacher at St. Paul School, North Canton.
  • Shawn Mark, teacher at John F. Kennedy Catholic School Upper Campus, Warren.
  • Kimberly Ricchetti, teacher at St. Michael the Archangel School, Canton.
