Direction Home Agency Announces New Executive Team
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Direction Home recently announced the appointment of its new executive team, which will lead the organization into its next chapter of service and community impact.
At the helm is Joseph Rossi, CEO, who has been a vital part of Direction Home since 1990. Over his 34-year tenure, Rossi has witnessed the organization evolve from a small team with just a handful of employees to a robust entity that provides individuals with the choices and support needed to live independently in the places they call home.
Michael Moore is the chief operating office. He has been with Direction Home since January 2011, serving as the director of information technology and the agency’s privacy officer. In his new role as COO, Moore will oversee home and community-based services, the long-term care ombudsman program, human resources, IT and telecommunications, and privacy. He has extensive background in technology and operations.
Jody Deflin is the chief financial officer. Deflin, a certified public accountant, joined Direction Home in April. With significant experience in both public and private accounting, particularly within nonprofit organizations, she will oversee the controller, accountant, MIS billing coordinator, and the quality, monitoring, and planning director, ensuring that financial practices align with Direction Home’s mission and goals.
Stacey Bettura is the chief compliance officer. She has been part of the Direction Home team since 2014, beginning her journey as a long-term care ombudsman. Over the years, she has held several roles, including contract monitor in provider relations, and has served as the director of compliance since 2019. With over 20 years of experience as a long-term care nursing home administrator, Betttura is well-equipped to oversee the agency’s compliance and education programs. She will also introduce a new compliance specialist position to address the growing compliance needs of the agency.
Cassandra Valentini is the chief of community development and public relations. Her journey with Direction Home began as a social work intern in 2010, and she has since become an invaluable asset to the organization. She will oversee the front office team, community outreach and wellness initiatives, community resources, special projects, family caregiver support and crisis intervention.
