Documentary About America’s Financial Divide to be Screened
AKRON, Ohio – A screening of the documentary film “America’s Burning” will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at The Nightlight cinema, 30 N. High St.
A post-show discussion with producer Ian Michaels, an Austintown native, will follow.
Youngstown-based podcaster and filmmaker Johnny Chechitelli, also an Austintown native, will moderate the post-show session.
Narrated by Michael Douglas, “America’s Burning” calls on a range of experts, including James Carville, Leon Panetta and Amy Chua.
The film was directed by author and macroeconomist David Smick, who takes an unflinching look at the precarious state of America’s seemingly unbridgeable economic divide – with a surprisingly optimistic outlook on its future.
Tickets are $11 ($9 for senior citizens, $8 for students).
