Downtown Youngstown Set for Return of First Fridays

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The city is set for the return of First Fridays, free events held at locations throughout downtown to kick off the beginning of each month.

The events feature music, entertainment, networking, food, drink specials, shopping, art exhibits, family activities and more.

First Fridays will kick off at 4 p.m. May 3. Here’s what’s planned:

On Phelps Street, there will be a business networking happy hour and vendor booths. On the Summit 330 Stage near Golden String Radio, Karkosiak Brothers Guitar Duo will perform from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and Caitlin & Company will take the stage from 6 to 8 p.m. At Octave Live Music Cafe, music with Stepping Out line dancing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., followed by a band – more details will be released soon. And Students Motivated by the Arts will provide hands-on activities for families.

The YMCA of Youngstown, 17 N. Champion St., will provide free weekend passes with proof of attendance at Youngstown State University’s commencement.

The Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre will host Party on the Lawn with RDNA at 8 p.m. as part of the Premier Bank Community Series.

Events are also planned for June 7, July 5, Aug. 2 and Sept. 6.
