Dwinnells to Receive 2022 Distinguished Physician Award
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Mahoning Valley Medical Society has selected ONE Health Ohio CEO Ronald Dwinnells, M.D., as one the recipients for its 2022 Distinguished Physician Award. The award, established in 1978, is presented to physicians who have had a significant contribution to their profession, patients and the communities they serve.
“Being recognized with the 2022 Distinguished Physician Award for this work by my medical colleagues of the Mahoning Valley Medical Society is most gratifying and very much appreciated. I am honored and blessed to serve my fellow Mahoning Valley citizens as their physician for the past 39 years – especially to those who found themselves in the most vulnerable social situations requiring quality health care to maintain good health and well-being,” says Dwinnells.
“I am also proud that I was instrumental in the founding of ONE Health Ohio, 36 years ago – a comprehensive health program to increase accessibility of health care to the medically uninsured, underinsured and underserved populations. Since its inception, ONE Health Ohio has provided medical care for over 1.2 million patient visits, awarded over $65 million in federal and state grants, and infused over $250 million into the local economy.”
