Early Learning Center at JCC Gets 2 Grants

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Early Learning Center at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown has received two grants from the Penner Family Endowment of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation.

A $30,000 grant will be used for enrichment programs, such as art, preschool swimming, yoga, movin’ and groovin’ classes, Gymsters and Shabbat activities. A $32,500 grant will be used for ELC scholarships and family programs.  

“We will use this money to supplement Jewish holiday celebrations throughout the year, teacher appreciation activities, ELC family activities, one-on-one infant and toddler swim lessons and summer enrichment to keep the kids engaged during the hot summer months,” said Adrienne Achenbach, ELC director.
