East High Coach Honored for ‘Making a Difference’

Tanisha Franklin, head coach of the East High School Lady Golden Bears basketball team, was awarded the “Making a Difference Award” by City Kids Care Inc. The organization provides community programming aimed at making a positive difference in the lives of children. “It’s an honor to receive a community award because you are recognized by the community you serve,” Franklin said at the presentation ceremony during a recent home game. “I am a Youngstown City School alumna so it feels good to be able to give back. I would like to thank my family for their support, my players, my coaching staff, everyone who supports me and [City Kids Care CEO] Brandon Perry for the recognition.”
