East Library Temporarily Closed through Sept. 13

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County’s East Library will be closed through at least Sept. 13 due to a coronavirus-related staffing shortage.

The branch, 430 Early Road, will reopen after a deep cleaning and sanitization.

All library staff system-wide are required to wear masks and patrons are encouraged to wear them while visiting branches. 

As an extra safety measure, the Public Library installed needlepoint bipolar ionization devices to help neutralize  viruses, allergens and other harmful airborne particles. The machines were purchased with funds from the Cares Act.

With the branch closed, visitors are encouraged to access services online at LibraryVisit.org or visit other open branches.
