East Liverpool City Hospital Starts Vaccinating Frontline Staff
EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – Staff at East Liverpool City Hospital have started to receive their vaccinations against COVID-19.
On Monday, the hospital received 500 doses of the Moderna vaccine and will begin distributing it to frontline workers immediately. A clinic has been set up in the hospital for administration, documentation and monitoring of staff, following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control.
A second shipment of the vaccine is expected within 28 days to complete the two-dose requirement for immunity.
“I am confident in the safety of this vaccine. I have no reservations in receiving it and I am elated that our frontline team will have this added protection against this pandemic,” said Gretchen Nickell, East Liverpool City Hospital’s chief medical officer, in a statement.
