EAST PALESTINE, Ohio – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, met with local manufacturers and was given a tour at RBS Manufacturing, a steel mill equipment manufacturing plant that was affected by the Norfolk Southern derailment in February.
Rick Severs, general manager of the plant, says sales have dipped by 35 to 40%, and there’s also been issues hiring new employees.
“Are you going to get more employees that want to come to [East] Palestine and work with everything going on?” Severs says. “We just need that support for the workforce and figure out what’s going to happen with the real estate.”
