East Palestine Gets New ‘Long-Term Medical Home’
EAST PALESTINE, Ohio – Officials gathered in the downtown area of the village to celebrate the grand opening of the East Palestine Clinic.
The clinic will serve as a primary care office in addition to the health assessments and screenings that were offered at First Church of Christ following the train derailment.
“We saw this now as really an opportunity,” says Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff, director of the Ohio Department of Health. “[It’s] really an opportunity to take something that began with a focus on responding to the health concerns that people had following the derailment and evolve that into a clinic that was able to not only continue to support patients’ questions, concerns [and] evaluations around that, but their comprehensive medical care to really be a long-term medical home.”
