East Palestine Receives $211K Grant for Street Improvements

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio – The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $211,488 grant to the village to develop a comprehensive safety action plan to improve local streets.

The funds will come through the Safer Streets for All program, which funds regional and local initiatives to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries. The investment was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

“With this latest investment from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we are making our roads safer and continuing to support the people of East Palestine,” U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, said in a news release announcing the grant. “This investment will assist the village of East Palestine’s efforts to improve local streets and intersections to prevent serious accidents and keep Ohioans safe on the road.”
