Eastern Gateway President Announces Retirement
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Michael Geoghegan, president of Eastern Gateway Community College, announced Friday that he will retire in June 2024.
Eastern Gateway will name an interim president from within the college. In the fall, an executive firm will begin a national search to find Geoghegan’s successor.
“We are forever grateful and indebted to President Michael Geoghegan for his dedication and service to Eastern Gateway, our staff, our faculty and, most importantly, our students,” said James M. Gasior, board chair.
Geoghegan served as president at the college for nearly seven years.
“Throughout his tenure, President Geoghegan served our college with distinction. A fearless leader, he helped transform the school, raising standards and creating incredible opportunities for our students to achieve their dreams,” Gasior said. “We are thankful that he will be here to help us as we go through this transition, first appointing an interim president from within Eastern Gateway, and then as we open the search nationwide for a new president. We are so grateful for President Geoghegan’s unwavering commitment to Eastern Gateway.”
