Eastgate Seeks Public Input on Transportation Plan
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Eastgate Regional Council of Governments is seeking public feedback on its 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan.
The plan identifies strategies and projects for maintaining and improving the transportation system over a 20-year period for Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Every five years, Eastgate is required to update the document by identifying trends, working with stakeholders to develop a collective vision and goals and recommending strategies.
The plan includes a list of 134 short-term projects, estimated at more than $284 million in infrastructure investment, and 50 long-term projects estimated at $118 million in investment. The plan includes projects such as roadway resurfacing, bridge replacement, intersection enhancements and technology upgrades.

The public can provide feedback on the plan from May 1-19. Comments can be submitted to Justin Mondok, director of Planning & Development, by emailing [email protected] or mailing to Eastgate’s office, 100 E. Federal St., Suite 1000, Youngstown, OH 44503. Comments can also be submitted in person at the office.
A public meeting will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. May 4 at Eastgate’s office.
