Eastwood Mall to Begin Multi-Million Dollar Upgrade
NILES, Ohio – The Eastwood Mall plans to undergo its first major upgrade in a decade, The Cafaro Co. announced Friday.
The “multi-million dollar” improvements will include a complete reconstruction of the main entrance that will incorporate a 10’ x 21’ LED video screen that will display static and full-motion video images that will advertise mall merchants and events.
Canfield-based LED3 will install the new system.
New construction will also improve the northeast entrance to the mall near Target and JC Penney in order make room for more store spaces with direct access to the parking lot. Repaving operations of the parking area have already started, as well as pressure washing and tuck pointing of the main mall building, the company said. New landscaping will be added to the outside in September and October.
The interior of the mall will also undergo an upgrade, the company said. New energy-efficient LED lighting is planned for the concourses and court areas, while new carpeting will be installed throughout the common areas.
Meanwhile, work on the new Eastwood Events Centre is expected to start soon, the company announced.
“We want to keep the atmosphere clean, modern and appealing to both our merchants and guests,” said Anthony Cafaro Jr., co-president of The Cafaro Co. “We know the Eastwood Mall looks good already but we want to stay ahead of the curve.”
