EGCC Resumes Normal Business Operations Thursday
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — After a threat of “violent action” forced Eastern Gateway Community College to evacuate and close its buildings, the community college announced Wednesday it will resume normal business operations on April 15.
Between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on April 13, the college received a phone call that included “a general threat of violent action on an Eastern Gateway campus,” prompting EGCC to close its buildings.
The building remained closed on Wednesday to give law enforcement in Steubenville and Youngstown the time and space needed to conduct an investigation.
