EGCC Valley Center to Move Administrative Offices
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Eastern Gateway Community College plans to move the administrative offices of its Valley Center downtown.
In the next few weeks, the administrative offices, now on the 10th floor of the Chase Building, 6 Federal Plaza West, will move two blocks west to 139 E. Boardman St.
The administrative offices house financial aid, advising and faculty and administrative offices for the Valley Center. At 11,000 square feet, the East Boardman street space is about 1,000 square feet larger than the space in the Chase Building and is across the street from the Valley Center.
“We are fortunate that this building became available. We are excited to get settled in our new building closer to the schoolrooms,” said Anthony D’Apolito, operations manager.
EGCC moved to the Chase building in July 2014.
“Our commitment to downtown Youngstown remains strong. This change will give us an enviable presence on the East End and will prove of great convenience to all of our stakeholders,” said Dr. Jimmie Bruce, EGCC president.
The structure at 139 E. Boardman previously housed the United Methodist Community Center. Other former tenants of the building included the Children’s Museum of the Valley – predecessor to Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center of Science & Technology – and the Internal Revenue Service.
