Embroidery Company to Expand with $1.15M Building Purchase
WARREN, Ohio — An embroidery business has outgrown its current operations at 387 Chestnut St. and has plans to expand at a new location.
An entity related to Color 3 Embroidery Inc. recently purchased the Carrier Services Group building at 2927 Mahoning Ave., says Traci Miller, founder and president of Color 3. “We’re hopeful to be fully operational by May,” she says.
Color 3 is a wholesale screen printing and embroidery service that has clients across the country, Miller says, and business has grown exponentially in the online retail space. “Our plan is to grow annually by 30% over the next three years.”
Dan Crouse, an agent for Platz Realty Group handled the building’s sale.
“It’s a match made in heaven — it just fit their needs,” Crouse says. “It’s a wide open building, a wide open floor space and a clean environment. Carrier Services put a lot money into it and took care of it.”
Gala 678 Holdings LLC, a related entity, bought the 40,000-square-foot building on Feb. 3 for $1.15 million, according to records from the Trumbull County Auditor’s office.
Carrier Services provides equipment to the telecommunications industry and is in the process of moving from that space, Crouse says.
The property was initially listed for lease, but came on the market last year for purchase, Crouse says. The agent then reached out to Miller, who had earlier expressed interest in expanding her business.
Crouse says that Color 3 should be operating out of the new building by May.
The project was made possible with the help of Valley Economic Development Partners, which had assisted Color 3 with earlier expansions, says Teresa Miller, Valley Partners’ executive director.
“We already had a relationship with Traci and Color 3, so it was natural for her to come to us,” Miller says. First National Bank and a 504 Loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration provided financing for the purchase of the building, while a $150,000 from Valley Partners’ revolving loan fund was tendered for new equipment.
Miller says Color 3 expects to create seven jobs as a result of the expansion.
