EnVision Hosts Jobs and Education Fair on Friday
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Youngstown EnVision Center is hosting a jobs and education fair this Friday at the Center for Community Empowerment in Rockford Village on the east side of the city.
The felon-friendly event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the center’s gymnasium at 1420 Dogwood Lane. Representatives of local employment and education opportunities will be on-hand to meet with attendees.
For job seekers, local employers will be available, as will representatives from Community Legal Aid who will assist anyone experiencing barriers to employment. United Returning Citizens is a major organizer for the job fair.
Educational representatives will introduce available programs and certifications to attendees looking to learn new job skills. Representatives from skilled trade apprenticeship programs will also be on-hand.
In June 2018, Youngstown was named as one of 17 communities nationwide to be awarded an EnVision Center demonstration site.
Created by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Envision Centers help residents achieve self-sufficiency by focusing on economic empowerment, educational advancement, health and wellness, and character and leadership support.
United Returning Citizens and Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority are the local partners for the Youngstown Envision Center.
