ESC of Eastern Ohio Event Funds 2 Local Scholarships

CANFIELD, Ohio – The Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio’s Nine and Dine golf outing and Sip’n Paint fundraiser brought together dozens of golfers and amateur artists.

The annual fundraising event was held June 12 to benefit the organization’s Franklin B. Walter Scholarship Fund.

The ESC of Eastern Ohio provides a scholarship to one student in each of the counties the organization serves each year.

The ESC of Eastern Ohio awards the Ohio ESC Association Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award to one student from Mahoning County and one student from Columbiana County.

Delaney Finsley of Columbiana Exempted Village Schools and Lillian Dilts of Austintown Fitch High School received this year’s scholarships.

The ESC of Eastern Ohio’s Nine and Dine and Sip’n Paint funds the scholarships, with proceeds from hole sponsorships, basket raffles and a 50/50 raffle contributing to the fund.

Participants learned to paint a landscape during the Sip‘n Paint event.

This year, 18 teams of supporters took to the greens at the Mill Creek Golf Course for nine holes, and 45 amateur artists participated in the Sip’n Paint.

“These scholarships would not be possible without the generous contributions of our sponsors and those participating in the event,” said Traci Hostetler, superintendent of the ESC of Eastern Ohio. “We are thankful that these organizations, businesses and community members share in our passion for supporting the students we serve.”
