‘Escape History’ Opens in Eastwood Mall

NILES, Ohio – A new business in the Eastwood Mall, Escape History, is putting a historical spin on the escape room craze with three missions drawing inspiration from some of the world’s most influential events.

Escape History is open to the public Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. During the week, the escape rooms are available to be rented for company team-building activities.

“Your employees will be challenged to communicate with one another, work together, delegate roles, and use different problem solving techniques to complete our rooms,” said owner Josh Franke. “It’s recommended that following our rooms you have a debriefing to discuss how your team was able to overcome challenges in our room and relate those to your specific workplace and the challenges that are presented there.”

To complete challenges, participants have to solve puzzles and riddles to advance the story, eventually changing the course of history.

The two escape rooms currently available – the third will open in the coming weeks – are “The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln,” where players must foil the plans of John Wilkes Booth the night before his assassination of the president, and “Hitler and the Spear of Destiny,” which players find and remove the Spear of Destiny from the Hof Museum to stop the advance of the Axis.

Later this year, the third room will open with a challenge to save the passengers of the Titanic by stopping an evil Egyptian mummy.
