Event Aims to Raise Funds to Empower Women

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley and the Youngstown Business Incubator’s Women in Entrepreneurship Program will hold a joint fundraising event 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St.

The fundraiser, Powered by She, will feature Encompass, an exhibition by regional women artists, as well as live music, raffle prizes, appetizers, beer and wine. Funds raised at Thursday’s event will support the Community Foundation’s Fund for Women and Girls and the YBI’s Women in Entrepreneurship program.

“The Powered by SHE event is about women supporting and empowering other women through their giving,” said Stephanie Gilchrest, director of the Women in Entrepreneurship program. “Many women would love to mentor or teach other women of all ages to overcome and become successful. This event will allow women to empower through giving.”

There is no cost to attend, but pledge cards will be available and donations are encouraged.
