VIDEO: Exploring Mahoning Valley’s Indigenous Legacy
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – In this video, we explore more than 13,000 years of Mahoning Valley history with Bill Lawson, Mahoning Valley Historical Society executive director, focusing on the Indigenous Miamis, Mingos, Chippewas and Shawnees.
The presentation centers on land acknowledgments and the Valley’s early inhabitants. It was part of the Bites and Bits of History series held at the Tyler History Center on Nov. 16.
