BOARDMAN, Ohio – Shoppers are invited to get into the holiday spirit with events including Santa’s Arrival, Paws and Claus, Santa Stories and gift wrapping.

The holiday season will kick off with a parade and celebration at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19.

“We are excite to bring back our guests’ most-loved holiday events and activities to Southern Park to help provide a memorable shopping experience this season,” said Brian Gabbert, general manager, Southern Park. “Santa Claus will take center stage, with plenty of opportunities for kids and families to interact in-person.

From Santa’s Arrival to Santa Stories we look forward to being a spot to make holiday memories. And, thanks to our diverse mix of retailers, Southern Park is the ‘one stop shop’ to find everything on your holiday gift list.”

Along with the parade the celebration on Nov. 19 will include local band, No Funk No Justice, playing holiday music while Deep Freeze figure skaters officially open The Rink for the season. Guests can join the parade, accompanying Santa as he marches from DeBartolo Commons through the mall to his house in Center Court.

Santa will be joined by The Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, Elsa, Boardman officials, the Boardman High School marching band and cheerleaders, as well as other local cheerleaders and mascots.

Santa will be ready to hear children’s Christmas wishes and pose for photos starting at 11 a.m. and continuing through Christmas Eve. Reservations are encouraged.

Free horse drawn sleigh rides will be available at DeBartolo Commons from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Rink will be open from noon to 8 p.m.

Three Paws and Claus events are scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12. Along with the opportunity to snap a photo of the family pet with Santa, the events include free pet treats from Pups Path, a Southern Park retailer. On Nov. 28, Katie’s Puppies will feature adoptable pugs, frenchies and papillions.
