Merger Brings Farmers to $8 Billion in Unique Assets
CANFIELD, Ohio — Farmers National Banc Corp. has entered into an agreement and plan of merger with Emlenton, Pa.-based Emclaire, the holding company for The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton.
The deal follows Farmers’ recent completion of its merger with Cortland Bank. It’s the company’s seventh acquisition in as many years, six of which are banks.
“The buyer rarely dictates the timing. It’s usually a seller or a target that dictates ‘Hey, it’s my opportunity to find a partner.’ So having said that, I think we’re solely focused on this transaction right now,” says Kevin Helmick, president/CEO of Farmers National Banc Corp.
