Farrell Students Win Thiel Scholarships Worth $130,000
HERMITAGE, Pa. — Farrell High School senior Gary Satterwhite III was awarded an academic scholarship worth $130,560 to Thiel College during a surprise presentation Dec. 15 at the eCenter@LindenPointe here.
Satterwhite is Farrell’s valedictorian and one of five winners for 2020 from among a field of 140 applicants. He joins Farrell High School classmate Brice Butler; Hannah Stoughton, a senior from Apollo-Ridge High School in Apolla, Pa.; Seneca Valley High School seniors Anna Paul, of Zelienople, Pa., and Sarahy Lopez, of Cranberry, Pa.
Satterwhite is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club and yearbook staff. He is class president and a member of the football, basketball and volleyball teams. He plans to play football at Thiel College.
Butler was a four-year member of the football, basketball and volleyball teams. He was a three-year member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Club. Butler also participated in Quest, the E-Academy and the Aevidum backpack program as well as being Farrell’s homecoming king. Butler also plans to play football at Thiel College.
