February Vehicle Sales in the Valley Improve from Last Year
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks to residents of the Mahoning Valley improved substantially during February compared with the same period a year ago, data show.
Figures released from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association show that dealers sold 2,113 new vehicles to residents in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties last month, compared with 1,524 sold during the same month in 2023 – an increase of more than 38%.
New vehicle sales in February were down nearly 12% from the previous month, the report shows. In January, dealers sold 2,398 new cars and trucks.
#1 Cochran Chevrolet, Boardman reported selling 160 new vehicles in February, data show. Second highest in volume sales was Boardman Subaru with 124; third was the Honda Store, Boardman, with 114; Ken Ganley Kia, Boardman, posted the fourth best volume with 108 sold; and Fred Martin Ford reported it sold 105 new vehicles in February.
Volume sales of used vehicles also improved in February compared with 2023.
Dealers reported selling 2,028 used cars and trucks last month, compared with 1,723 sold in February 2023, an increase of 17.7%.
Used vehicles sold last month were essentially flat – down less than 1% from January, the report shows.
