Ferguson Named CEO of American Bus Association
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Bus Association has appointed Fred Ferguson as its new president and CEO. He brings over 15 years of experience in public policy, strategic communications and leadership within the government, nonprofit and private sectors.
Ferguson joins ABA following his tenure at Vista Outdoor Inc. where he was vice president of public affairs and communications. At Vista Outdoor, Ferguson led state and federal lobbying, industry relations, and corporate communications and chaired the Vista Outdoor Foundation.
In his new role, Ferguson will lead ABA into its next era, focusing on uniting diverse stakeholders to drive shared causes and improved outcomes.
Additionally, he will serve as president of the National Bus Traffic Association and president of the ABA Foundation.
“As we move forward and into this new era for travel and transportation, it’s imperative that our members’ voices be heard at all levels of government. Fred’s years of experience in advocacy and communications make him the perfect leader to navigate these new roads ahead,” says Terry Fischer, chair of ABA board of directors.
Ferguson has served as a chief of staff and legislative director in the U.S. House of Representatives, managing successful campaigns and mentoring over 50 congressional staffers. He holds a MBA from Oklahoma State University and a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Utah.
Founded in 1926, the American Bus Association represents motorcoach operators, tour operators and all related segments of the motorcoach industry in the United States and Canada.
