Film Made by Valley Director Is Available to View
YOUNGSTOWN – “What Happens in the Dark,” a film directed by James Ford of Austintown, is now available to view for free on Tubi.com.
The film revolves around a businessman who is haunted by his repeated betrayal of loved ones.
The cast includes Hakeem Sharif, Adrianna Alphonso, Lexi DiLucia, Eric Nolan, Alvin Frazier, Chevi Red, DeMaris Harvey and Jayda Jones. The script was written by Melanie Clarke-Penella.
Shooting took place this year in Youngstown, Howland and Cleveland Heights.

Ford is a South High School and Youngstown State University graduate. He owns JAE Films LLC with Eric Nolan of The O’Jays.
“What Happens in the Dark” is his first feature film as a director. He has worked on many regional and national film and commercial projects.
Ford also made the documentary “Homeless but Not Hopeless” (2005) and the short film “Unforgettable Memories” (2021).
