Final Eastern Gateway Commencement Is Aug. 10

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The final commencement ceremony at Eastern Gateway Community College will take place Aug. 10 at the main campus.

The ceremony will showcase the hard work and accomplishments of the graduating class of 2024.

“We are incredibly proud of our graduating students and all that they have accomplished during their time at EGCC,” said John Crooks, interim EGCC president. “This final commencement at our Steubenville campus holds a special place in our hearts as we celebrate the academic success and personal growth of our students.”

Eastern Gateway, which also has a campus in Youngstown, will close in October amid a series of financial challenges stemming from its free college benefit program and the program’s end.

“We invite our students and their families to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion and to show our support for the bright futures that lie ahead for our graduates,” said Art Daly, senior executive vice president. “As we bid farewell to our college, we look forward to a future filled with EGCC alumni, aiding in the continued success and growth in our community.”
