First Commonwealth’s Fox Receives DEI Leadership Award
INDIANA, Pa. – Vicki L. Fox, First Commonwealth Bank’s diversity and inclusion officer, recently was honored by the banking industry’s top trade association in the commonwealth.
The Pennsylvania Bankers Association, which represents more than 120 banks and approximately 100 affiliate members, selected Fox as recipient of its 2024 DEI Leadership Award. The award is given annually to bankers who show leadership and a commitment to advancing and celebrating DEI within their banks and across the banking industry. The announcement was made at the PBA’s annual DEI Conference in Hershey, Pa.
“We offer our congratulations to Vicki for receiving this prestigious honor,” said Mike Price, First Commonwealth president and CEO. “She has been instrumental in bringing our D&I efforts to the forefront of the organization. Fittingly, her work now has been recognized industrywide. We appreciate all her efforts in leading our D&I initiatives and helping fulfill our mission of improving the financial lives of our neighbors and their businesses.”
“I am so humbled to receive this PBA Award,” said Fox, who has spent more than four decades in the banking industry. “But with every award, it takes many individuals to work collectively for a cause.”
To be nominated for the award, candidates must have leadership roles at financial institutions that are members of PA Bankers and have demonstrated consistent and quantifiable support for diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in their workplace, the industry and the community.
Since being named First Commonwealth’s first D&I officer in July 2021, Fox has been instrumental in connecting diversity and inclusion and Community Reinvestment Act programs, identifying the points of intersectionality, particularity with how the bank focuses on low-income and marginalized communities.
