First of 8 New Aircraft Lands at YARS

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A brand new C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft concluded its maiden voyage from the production plant in Marietta, Ga., to the Youngstown Air Reserve Station.

Each aircraft is valued at approximately $109.75 million, for a total investment of approximately $878 million for the 910th Airlift Wing, YARS and the Mahoning Valley.

“To be able to take an airplane that has literally now five hours on it and the most modern technology that an airlifter can possess and bring it here to Youngstown should allow us to do whatever we need to do for the United States in the near future and beyond,” says Col. Mike Maloney, commander of the 910th Airlift Wing.
