Fisher Distributes Special Treats to Senior Citizens
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The residents of Calvary Towers were visited by Leonard Fisher, president of Handel’s Ice Cream who collaborated with Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley to distribute “Lenny’s PB&J” ice cream sandwiches.
“He has on a number of occasions donated to us financially and now with the ice cream,” says Mike Iberis, executive director of Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. “We hope that this will be a long term relationship with Handel’s and I think that we can help a lot of other people in the valley.”
Future distributions are planned, focusing on other senior facilities followed by a second phase working with local school districts.
