Fisker Shows Off New Rendering of Pear
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Fisker Inc. Founder and CEO Henrik Fisker has provided another glimpse of the new electric vehicle slated for production at Foxconn’s Lordstown automotive manufacturing plant in 2024.
Fisker posted to his Instagram account an overhead exterior rendering of the Fisker Pear, the electric vehicle bound for Lordstown.
“Wrap around windscreen! Multiple innovations never seen on a production car before! The Fisker Pear will start under $30k and begin production in the US in 2024!” Fisker wrote in the post.
The image shows a sleek, curved front and a wrap around windscreen, along with futuristic headlamps. Another feature is a solar roof that the company has already incorporated in the Fisker Ocean, an electric SUV that is expected to start production in Austria in November.
Fisker said during a conference call Wednesday that the company, based in Manhattan Beach, Calif., intends to build a minimum of 250,000 EVs per year once the plant is at full capacity.
The company last year signed a contract manufacturing agreement with Foxconn in which the Taiwan-based tech giant will build the vehicle at the Lordstown plant on Fisker’s new platform.
Foxconn purchased the 6.2 million-square-foot-plant from Lordstown Motors Corp. in May for $230 million.
