Flashback Minis: Knee-Hugger Elves

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio–The elves featured in today’s Flashback Mini were originally called the “Knee-hugger” elves and were made in Japan in the 1950’s and 1960’s. In 2004, the knee-hugging elf made its way back into history with the popular book “The Elf on the Shelf.”

“Memories of Christmas Past” at the Arms Family Museum is open through Dec. 31. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Special Twilight Thursday hours are from noon to 7 p.m.
